Gregory K. Dineff, age 66, of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Lorain due to complications from COVID.
Greg was born on March 6, 1954 in Lorain to the late Steve “Bots” and Mary “Toots” Dineff and remained a life-long resident of Lorain. After graduating from Admiral King High School in 1972, Greg proudly worked at Lorain Works US Steel. He retired from the steel plant with 44 years of service.
He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 1104. Those who knew Greg, knew of his passion for riding and traveling on his Harley. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandpa, brother and friend.
He is survived by his children, Steve (Pam) Dineff of Avon Lake, Greg (Kim) Dineff of Amherst and Kristin (Cody) McCluggage of Cape Coral, Florida; grandsons, Michael, Steven, Gregory III and Garret; sister, Laura Collins of Hobart, Indiana; and his friend and companion, Melinda Olsen.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jim Collins.
Greg’s wishes were that there would be no services. His cremation was entrusted to Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Greg’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
