Wanda A. Scheithauer

Wanda Scheithauer (nee Koreski), 93, of Sheffield Township, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a short illness.
Born May 25, 1921 in Lorain, she was a life long resident of Sheffield Township. She attended Clearview High School and worked for Western Automatic in Elyria.
Wanda was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elyria, and a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain. She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20 Auxiliary and the former Polish American Citizens Club Auxiliary.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles and plastic canvas work.
Surviving is her son, Martin S. Jr, of Florida; a daughter, Christine Staller of Lorain; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Martin J. in 1999; parents, Anthony and Anna (nee Wysomierski) Koreski; a brother, Chester Koreski; and sisters, Frances Chudzinski and Julia Slavik.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by mass at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria. Rev. Fr. Donald H. Dunson, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
