Thomas "Doc" Wright

Thomas E. "Doc" Wright, age 79, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at Summa Barberton Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Doc was born on September 23, 1936 in Ironton, OH. He lived in Lorain for 60 years, before returning back to Ironton 20 years ago. For the past three years he has lived in Akron.
He was employed at Lorain Works US Steel for 35 years, retiring in the late 80's.
He was a member of the Steelworkers Union #1104. Doc enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas, Gary, Bruce, Dennis, Danny, Michael, and Brian; daughters, Brenda Wright, Rhonda Lanning, and Karen Wright; 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (nee Hall) Wright in 1999; parents, John and Annie (nee Taylor) Wright; son, Randy Wright in 1988; brother, John Henry "Bud" Wright; sisters, Emma Akers, Lillian Ward and Mary Hudson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am. Rev. Genevieve Hedrick, of Word of Life Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
