Sherri L. Rodriguez

Sherri L. Rodriguez (nee Dalton), age 64, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Lorain on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Mercy Health - Lorain Hospital.

Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, on February 21, 1961, Sherri moved to Lorain as an infant. She graduated from Lorain Admiral King High School in 1979 and attended Lorain County Community College.

Throughout her life, Sherri dedicated herself to caring for others as a State Tested Nursing Assistant. She brought compassion and kindness to her work at the Lorain YMCA, Community Health Partners, Amherst Manor Nursing Home, Interim Healthcare, and Cambridge Home Health Care.

Sherri cherished time with her grandkids and family, and found joy cooking for others. She also enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, and bingo in her free time.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Christopher Rodriguez of Lorain, Tonya (Wences Agosto) Rodriguez of Lorain, Dominic (Jessica) Rodriguez of Michigan, and Jill (Tim) McBride of Indiana; her cherished nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her devoted brother, Charles “Punk” Dalton; beloved sisters, Tracy Brady and Sarah Gager; and caring stepmother, Julia “Marlene” Dalton.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Anthony Rodriguez, in 2021; parents, Charles Faye and Golda Cheryl (nee Belt) Dalton; and a brother, James “Jim” Dalton.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. Deacon Rocky Ortiz from Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain will officiate.
