Roy D. Owens, age 59, of Oberlin, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, Ohio following a lengthy illness.

Born April 30, 1964 in Oberlin to Robert and Bessie (nee Hall) Owens, Roy lived in Oberlin his entire life. He graduated from Oberlin High School.

He loved playing pool, football (especially the Cowboys). Above all, he loved family and friends and was loved by everyone.

Surviving is his son, David (Christina Beetler) Owens; grandchildren, Zach and Zaya as well as his siblings, Maggie, Louis, Donny, Leon, Charles and Betty.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents as well as his siblings, Michael, Robert and Lucy.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 5 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. A private burial will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park at a later date.
