Rose Victoria Groesser (Horba), 70, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, following a courageous five-year battle with lung and brain cancer, which ultimately led to heart failure.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Rose was known for her creativity, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She found joy in gardening, caring for animals, and working with pottery, and she had a lifelong fondness for visiting the horse track and casino. Rose had a natural gift for fixing things and a quiet determination to make life easier for those around her. Her thoughtful gestures, steady presence, and deep love for her family will be profoundly missed.
She is survived by her husband: Jack Groesser Jr., her devoted partner of nearly 42 years; daughter: Crystal Groesser; sons: Jack Groesser III and Dameon Dempsey; grandchildren: Garrett Pawlak, Marley Groesser, Jack Groesser IV, Tyler Dempsey, Autumn Whitlock, Savannah Dempsey, Carly Dempsey, Jonah Fechner, Kalyn Fechner, and Trennen Fechner.
She was preceded in death by: her parents: Theresa Marcello Horba and John Horba as well as her sister: Michelle Horba.
A memorial gathering will be held on December 3, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, OH 44055. In accordance with her wishes, Rose will be cremated. Her kindness, resilience, and love for others leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.
