Richard R. Martincin

Richard R. Martincin, 89, of Sheffield Village, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Mill Manor Nursing Center in Vermilion following a lengthy illness.
Born Aug. 31, 1926 in Lorain, he lived in Lorain his entire life. Richard attended Lorain High School and then served in the US Navy during World War II.
In 1982, Richard retired from General Motors in Elyria where he worked as a buffer in department 2 for 35 years.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 780 and the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20. Richard enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are his sons, Richard Paul of Vermilion, Daniel Wayne of Mansfield and William Dale of Amherst; step sons, Anthony Hoholski of Vermilion, Kenneth Hoholski of Lorain and Wayne Hoholski of Winter Park, Florida; a step daughter, Judith Strauser of Sheffield Village; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren; and a brother, Anthony of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Beatrice Mae (nee Wressell) in 2007; parents, Joseph and Sophie (nee Hoye) Martincin; his first wife, Violet (nee Nahm) in 1979; brothers, Eugene and Joseph; and sisters, Helen Bacha, Cecilia Farkas, Mildred Groboski; Eleanor Butchko, Betty Simo and Darlene Kajganich.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am. Rev. Karen Farthing, pastor of First Congregational Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
