Raymond Lee McKissick

Raymond Lee McKissick, age 31, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

Raymond was born on August 28, 1991, in Lorain.  He is survived by his dad, Derward McKissick Jr., and stepmother Michelle Thomas; his mom, Lana Marrero, and stepdad, Joe Travis; 3 brothers, Matthew McKissick, Anthony McKissick, and Patrick Marrero; and a sister, Nicole McKissick; six nieces and five nephews, extended family and friends.

Raymond's most incredible legacy will always be his children, Janayshia McKissick-Thompson, Raymond McKissick Jr., Carter McKissick, and Niomii Johnson.

Raymond is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Derward and Carolyn McKissick Sr., and maternal grandparents, Raymond and Gloria Marrero.

He has resided for the last six years at Avon Place Skilled Nursing after injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  Raymond will always be remembered in his greatest health.  He had a love for music and dancing, a contagious laugh, and a smile that could light up a room.  But most importantly, he will be remembered for his most significant accomplishment in life, being a father.

Friends and family are invited to attend a food gathering, share memories, and celebrate Raymond's life on Saturday, March 25, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Distribution Center on Broad Street in Elyria.
