Ray Gene Reaser, age 86, of Lorain, died Monday, June 5, 2023, at University Hospital in Cleveland following a brief illness.
Born October 11, 1936, in Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, he moved to Lorain in 1950.
Ray was a crane operator for Bredero Price Company for 46 years, retiring in 2001. Before this, he worked for Hill Hubbell.
He was a member of Christian Life Church and the Laborers’ Union Local 758.
He enjoyed working in his garden, yard work, and watching sports.
Surviving are his sons, Dennis (Karolyn Koczwara-Reaser) Reaser of Lorain and Steven Reaser of Elyria; grandchildren, Dennis (Amanda) Reaser Jr. of Grafton and Amy (Eric) Wagner of Elyria; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Julia, Olivia, Reagan, and Grant; brothers, Roger of Amherst, Ronnie of Kentucky, Donald of Avon Lake; and a sister, Alice Castillo of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Shirley (nee Grubbs), in 2003; parents, Ralph and Rita (nee Batton) Reaser; brothers, Harold Reaser, Robert Reaser, and Michael Reaser; and sisters, Geneva Simmons and Barbara Ann Reaser.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
