Quaker Levendosky

Craig Levendosky, affectionately known to many as "Quaker," passed away on February 9, 2026, in Lorain, Ohio, at the age of 75. Born on November 2, 1950, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Craig lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a profound commitment to his family and community.

A proud veteran, Craig honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969 to 1970. During his service with the 1st Marines in Vietnam, he worked as a mine sweeper and booby trap man, a role that showcased not only his bravery but also his sense of duty. He was recognized for his exceptional service with the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm and frame and received a Meritorious Mast, honors that reflect his commitment to his country and the valor he displayed during his time in the military.

After returning from service, Craig found his calling in the railroad industry. He dedicated 27 years to Lake Terminal Railroad as a conductor, a role that allowed him to connect with his community through his work. His commitment to his occupation extended beyond the tracks; he also served as Vice President of the local union, advocating for the rights and needs of his fellow workers. Craig’s influence did not stop there; he was an active member of UTU Local 1391 and proudly held the position of President of the Russo Slav Citizens Club, where he contributed to the cultural vibrancy of his community.

Education was important to Craig, who graduated from Admiral King High School in 1968. His formative years laid the groundwork for a life rich in accomplishments and lasting relationships.

Above all, Craig cherished his family. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Michelle Levendosky, as well as his step-sons Michael, Matthew, and Joshua Vimpeny. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Eugene and Diane Devero, whose legacy lives on through Craig's values and dedication to family.

Private services with Military Honors were held.  Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists handled the arrangements.
