Pricey M. Taylor (nee Daugherty), age 74, of Elyria, died Saturday, October 21, 2023, at her residence after a sustained illness.
Born February 15, 1949, in Vulcan, West Virginia, she moved to Amherst as a child. Throughout her life, Pricey called several states home before finally returning to Ohio in 1995.
Pricey dedicated the majority of her life to the service industry, with a notable career in dining and retail.
In her free time, she loved to read, line dance, and was a crafting and sewing enthusiast. She was known for making small stuffed puppies that brought joy to many of her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed joining her friends on charity motorcycle rides.
As she grew older, she found joy in staying connected with loved ones on social media, delving into her family history through genealogy, and watching entertaining and inspiring people from different parts of the world on social media channels.
To many, Pricey was more than a name, she was a loving mother, doting Mamaw, and a caring Aunt who touched the lives of those who knew her.
Surviving are children, Joseph (Christina) Billings, Sonny Vaughn, and Tina (Terry) Weischedel; siblings, Ronald Sheriff of Elyria, Patricia Cozzolino of Missouri, and Tena Hart of Texas; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Pricey was preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Edith (nee Workman) Daugherty; a daughter, Sonya Vaughn; and siblings, Thomas Daughtery, Sheila Cozzolino, and Carol S. Sheriff.
