Phyllis A. Lane

Phyllis A. Lane (nee Woods), age 71, of Lorain, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 16, 2022, following a lengthy illness.

Born June 24, 1950 in Huntington, West Virginia, she and her family settled in Lorain in 1951.  She moved to Elyria in 1968 where she worked in housekeeping for Holiday Inn.  In 1994, Phyllis moved to Tennessee where she worked as a rehabilitation specialist for Greene Valley Development Center for 13 years, retiring in 2007 and returning to Elyria.

Phyllis enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and was an animal lover.

Surviving are her sons, Freddy Lane and Jason Lane both of Elyria, and Darl Beckham of Bellevue; daughter, Cherie Jones of Elyria; 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; brothers, Clarence, David and Kenneth Woods; and sisters, Mary Lucente, Teresa Comer and Lisa Woods.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lane in 1997; parents, Lonnie and Evelyn (nee Riley) Woods; granddaughter, Madelynn Lane; brothers, James and Lonnie; and a sister, Brenda Woods.

Phyllis’s family are abiding by her wishes for cremation.  The Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, are handling the arrangements.
