Phineas G. Serfozo, age 67, of Vermilion, died on Saturday, September 08, 2007 at Lake Pointe Health Center, Lorain, following a brief illness.
He was born on June 26, 1940 in Lorain, Ohio. Phineas was a 1959 graduate of Clearview High School, where he was his class president.
He was employed as a laborer for the Laborer's Union Local #758 in Lorain and Elyria for many years.
He was a member of Ss Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Lorain.
He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and following Clearview sports.
He is survived by his brothers: Joseph D. Serfozo, of Lorain, Michael A. Serfozo, of Amherst and Dana C. Serfozo, of Vermilion, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Julia (nee Moskal) Serfozo.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a 7:00 p.m. parastas will be conducted. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Archpriest Basil Stoyka, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
