Peter S. Rozmarynowycz, born on September 18, 1952 in Oberlin, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, in his hometown. He was 73 years old.
Peter’s life was firmly rooted in the community where he was born and raised. A proud graduate of Oberlin High School, Peter distinguished himself early on through his dedication to learning and his kindness towards all who knew him. His commitment to education laid the foundation for a life marked by diligence, curiosity, and a strong sense of service.
For many years, Peter worked for Inservco in Grafton, Ohio. In his career, he earned the respect of colleagues for his dependability and his earnest work ethic. Those who had the privilege of working alongside Peter remember him as a steadfast presence, always willing to lend a hand or a word of encouragement.
Peter’s passions extended well beyond his professional life. He was an avid reader, often found with a book in hand, eager to discover new worlds and ideas. He enjoyed bike riding and hiking, pursuits that took him outdoors to appreciate the beauty of nature. His interest in cooking, gardening, and tending to yard work brought him joy and a sense of accomplishment. Above all, Peter cherished socializing and took great pleasure in being involved with his community at Kendal in Oberlin. He understood the importance of friendship and fellowship, and his warm presence was felt by all who shared in those moments.
Peter's family was central to his life. He is survived by his brothers, Paul Rozmarynowycz, Very Rev. Fr. Mychail Rozmarynowycz, and Basil Rozmarynowycz; his sisters, Sister Maria Rozmarynowycz OBM, Anna Credi, Rosalie Behrnes, Vera Rozmarynowycz, Zenovia Rozmarynowycz, and Olga Vaughn. Their memories and bonds bear testament to a lifetime of love, shared stories, and enduring support.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Stephan and Walter Rozmarynowycz, his father Ivan Rozmarynowycz, and his mother Stephania Rozmarynowycz. Their guidance and love shaped much of Peter’s character and spirit, and their legacy lives on in him.
A Mass in memory of Peter S. Rozmarynowycz will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 410 W Lorain St, Oberlin, OH 44074, on July 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
