Patty A. Sauvey

Patty A. Sauvey (nee Bangas), age 66, of Amherst, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland following a brief illness.

Born June 5, 1955, in Lorain, she lived in the Lorain area her entire life.  Patty graduated from Southview High School in 1973 and received an associate degree from Lorain County Community College in 1978.

Patty worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for 15 years, then in Dr. Boye-Doe’s office in Lorain for 12 years, retiring in 2005. 

She enjoyed reading, shopping, and loved spending time with her family and her pet dog, Ellie.

Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Michael; daughters, Jennifer Sauvey of Wyoming, Ohio, and Nicole (Andy) Herzig of Liberty Township, Ohio; grandchildren, Julia Herzig, Anna Herzig, and Bruce Herzig; a brother, Tom (Tish Collier) Bangas of Chagrin Falls; sisters, Andrea Currence of Westlake and Jan (Bruce) Mitchell of Avon Lake; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Angelo Bangas in 2007; and her mother, Jean (nee Cica) Bangas in 2005.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 4:30 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
