Nancy Carol Diersen, (nee Harris) age 58, of Lorain, died on Monday, July 30, 2007 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a brief illness.
She was born on November 16, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio, moving to Lorain County in 1959.
Nancy was employed as a bus monitor for Lorain City Schools for 5 years, prior to this she was employed as a school aid in Lorain and a nursing home aide.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Nancy enjoyed volunteering for the Head Start program, she was a girl - scout leader. She enjoyed the game Yahtzee, word searches, jigsaw puzzles and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years: Alan Diersen, of Lorain, daughters: Cheryl Ann Davis and Ann Marie Calkins, both of Lorain, step daughter: Bridgett Fritz of Lorain, 7 grandchildren, and brothers: Daniel Harris and James Harris both of Sheffield Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Francis and Marcella (nee Dial) Harris and grandparents.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be held the following morning at 9:30 am. The Rev. Fr. Joseph West, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
