Mike Howell, born on May 8, 1948, in Queens, New York, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, in Lorain, Ohio. He dedicated his career to working as a steel worker for US Steel, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment.
A devoted family man, Mike held his loved ones in the highest regard, often expressing that family was the most important aspect of his life. He is survived by his loving son, Chris (Amy) Howell, alongside his daughter, Sarah (Evan) Ryherd, and his other daughter, Ashley (AnDray) Pfoutz-Notice. Mike also took immense joy in his role as a grandfather to four grandchildren, who cherished their time with him.
Mike is also survived by his brother, Frank Howell, who shared many fond memories with him over the years. He was predeceased by his father, Bernard Howell Sr., his mother, Fern Foale, and his brother, Bernard Howell.
Outside of his professional life, Mike was an avid enthusiast of Harley Davidson motorcycles and found great pleasure in watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He enjoyed spending his free time playing pool, tinkering with various projects, and had a keen interest in firearms. His passions brought both joy and adventure into his life and the lives of those around him.
A Memorial Gathering in honor of Mike Howell will be held on August 6, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dovin Funeral And Cremation Specialists, located at 2701 Elyria Ave, Lorain, Ohio, 44055.
