Michael Sappington

Michael Paul “Little Mike” Sappington, age 69, of Lorain, OH, passed away on March 26, 2023.  Mike was born in Los Angeles, CA to Alice Marie Bannister on November 17, 1953. 

Mike had many jobs in his lifetime, he was best known as a skilled handyman.  His handyman skills, diligence and willingness to help others won him many admirers and loyal customers in Fort Walton Beach, FL.  After he retired, he moved to Lorain, OH to be close to his family and grandchildren.  Little Mike was an avid motorcycle rider.  He truly enjoyed riding and participating in Poker Run’s with his riding buddies/family Paul and Colleen Decker and Pat and Lisa Baker. 

Mike is preceded in death by his Mother Alice Marie Bannister, Stepfather George Williams Bannister; Son Mikie Sappington.

He was a loving father and a friend to anyone he met.  He will truly be missed. He is survived by his cat Kiki, Daughters and son-in-laws Jeannie Sappington (James Pierce) and Suzan (Armando) Ortiz. Sister Dee Dee Bannister McDaniels.  Grandchildren Ezra Ortiz, Bella Ortiz, and MJ Ortiz.  Cousin Gerry Lynn Mosor.    

Mike was a thoughtful, kind, and generous person who always told the best stories.  He had a great sense of humor and always knew how to make people laugh.  Every person he met became a friend.  He was blessed to always be surrounded and loved by family and friends.  We would like to give a special thank you to David and Pam Goehringer, Mike Dennis and Carmen Ortiz for their kindness and support through the years.
