Michael Salas, 58, of Lorain, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a sudden illness.
Born August 25, 1953 in Lorain, he lived here his entire life. He was a 1972 graduate of Admiral King High School, and worked at Lorain Works US Steel as a carpenter.
Michael was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and enjoyed reading, watching television and movies, fishing, breading dogs, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his sons, Michael Salas and Marcus Salas both of Lorain, and Shawn Cruz of Elyria; 10 grandchildren; his father, Eliu Salas of Lorain; brothers, Larry Salas of Watertown, Wis., Louis Salas, Alexander Salas and Eric Salas all of Lorain; a sister, Virginia Kevorkian of Toledo; and his life long friend, Mary Lou Salas of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Idalia (nee Trevino) Salas in 2005; and brothers, Charles Salas and Robert Salas.
