Michael J. Phillips, age 51, of South Amherst, passed away on December 23, 2013.
Born on February 3, 1962 in Monticello, KY, he was raised in South Amherst attending South Amherst High School.
Michael worked as an independent contractor installing commercial and residential flooring for the past 25 years.
Michael enjoyed blue grass music and going to blue grass festivals, spending time with his family and Bubba bird, and playing his banjo. Some of his favorite memories was coaching his sons little league baseball team and hosting his annual family pig roast.
Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Barbara (nee Townsen); son, Michael of South Amherst; his father, John Phillips of South Amherst; brothers, Larry (Tammy) of New London, Arthur (Sarah) of Louisville, KY; sisters, Audrey Casada of South Amherst, and Donna (Nick) Glemza of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delta (nee New) Phillips in 2009.
