In Loving Memory of Mary Coviello
Mary and Salvatore Together Again!
With the memories of her children close and ever-present, Mary Louise Coviello, age 97, passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2026, in the house she loved — the home her husband built and where her heart always belonged.
She lived a long and meaningful life marked by steadiness, warmth, and quiet strength. She was not someone who sought attention, yet her presence was deeply felt. There was a calm about her — a peace that reassured those around her and made people feel safe, welcomed, and at ease.
She shared her life with her beloved husband, Salvatore Coviello, and together they raised seven children. Their home reflected their Italian roots and deep love of family, a place where shared meals and holiday gatherings brought everyone together around the dining room table. Extended family, sisters, brothers, in-laws, and close friends were woven naturally into daily life and celebrations alike. There were homemade raviolis, fresh-baked bread, full plates, and conversations that lingered long after the meal ended. Food was never just food; it was how love was expressed, and traditions were passed down.
She lived quietly, consistently, and peacefully. Through every season — the ups and the downs — she carried herself with grace. She showed strength without needing recognition and offered comfort without needing words. The way she lived taught those around her how to endure, how to care, and how to navigate life with kindness and dignity.
Family remained the heart of her world. She poured herself into raising her children and later took great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ordinary days mattered to her, as did holidays and time together. She had a gift for making people feel cared for simply by being present.
Over the years, many in her family deepened their understanding of life, love, and faith — shaped not by what she said but by how she lived. Her steadiness and peace became a foundation on which others built.
In her final days, she remained where she wanted to be — at home — surrounded by love and familiarity. There is comfort in knowing her wishes were honored and that she passed peacefully, just as she lived.
She is survived by her children, Anthony, Robert, Rocco, Denise, and Kim; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; and her extended family, who were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Salvatore Coviello; her sons Salvatore and Joseph; and her grandson Ari. We find comfort in imagining them reunited in peace.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many caregivers who cared for Mary over the years. Their kindness and presence meant more than words can express. We are especially grateful to Darcy Roberts, who lovingly cared for Mary during her final five years, and to the Cleveland Clinic Home Care team for their compassionate support, which enabled Mary to remain at home.
We are grateful for her long life and the love she gave so freely. We will honor her by living in her love — with steadiness, compassion, and care for one another.
She will be deeply missed and forever held in our hearts.
