Marianne Royhab

Marianne Royhab (née Henry), age 77, of Amherst, peacefully entered eternal life on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home in Avon following a lengthy illness.

She was born on August 15, 1949, in Lorain, to the late Dean and Mary (née McDonald) Henry. Marianne graduated from Lorain Admiral King High School in 1967 and then continued her education at Lorain County Community College for two years.

After marrying George Royhab in 1970, they moved to Girard, Ohio. In 1975, they returned to Lorain, where they lived until moving to Amherst in 1994. Marianne retired in 2012 after a 30-year career as a stock manager at Hills Department Store in Lorain, which later became Aims Department Store. She also served as a student attendant with Amherst Schools from 2001 to 2012.

Marianne was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Lorain since 1970. She found joy in growing flowers and loved tending to her flower beds. In her free time, she enjoyed engaging in arts and crafts and cheering for the Buckeyes, Indians, and Browns. Most importantly, she cherished spending time with her family. Her grandchildren-Amber, Natasha, Zechariah, Elijah, and Anna-as well as her great-grandchildren, Xavier, Dominic, and Isabella, were especially dear to her heart.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, George; daughters Christine (Dean) Van Farowe of Parma and Jennifer (Michael Colby) Fontánez of Amherst; as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters Carol (Robert) Edwards of Lorain and Linda Stafford of Grafton.

Besides her parents, Marianne was also preceded in death by her grandson, Nelson Fontanez.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, located at 2701 Elyria Avenue in Lorain, and conclude with a Parastas service at 6:00 p.m. The family will also welcome friends on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 10:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 2238 E. 32nd Street, Lorain. Archpriest Joseph McCartney, the pastor, will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Eastern Rite section of Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
