Maria Luisa Sanchez

Maria Luisa Sanchez, (nee Roman), age 81, of Lorain, died on Monday, January 24, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, following a brief illness.
She was born on March 5, 1929 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, living in Lorain most of her life.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel.
Her absolute love in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed cooking and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Simplicio, daughter, Frances (Hector) Velez, of Lorain, 3 sons; Arvin, of Houston, TX, Reinaldo, of Lorain, and Joel (Daisy Martinez), of Lorain, 6 grandchildren; Hector Lee Velez, Louisa Velez, Jason Velez, Louise Martinez, Joey Martinez, Juan Martinez, 3 step grandchildren; Jose Martinez, Marisol Martinez and Noel Martinez, 3 great grandchildren; Julian and Mylee Velez, and Elijah Herda, brothers; Ernesto, of Puerto Rico, Gilberto, of FL, and Eugenio, of NY, and a sister, Luz Candelario, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Eugenio and Altagracia (nee Gonzalez) Roman, and a brother, Claudino Roman.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 3-7 p.m., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held on Friday at 8:45 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
