Margaret Sharber

Margaret "Marge" Sharber, (nee Sandor) 81, of Amherst, died Friday, November 5, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain following a short illness.

Born Sept. 17, 1923 in Lorain, she moved to Amherst in 1996.

Marge was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1941A.

She worked as the assistant office supervisor at Prudential Insurance Company in Lorain for 12 years. She then worked 4 years as the secretary for the former Lorain Mayor Woody Mathna. She retired from Ford Motor Company, where she worked as a secretary, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Lorain, and the Lakeland Womens Club. She was an avid bowler.

Surviving is her son; Theodore Sharber of Amherst, daughter; Ellyn Gillette of Cincinnati, Ohio, a grandson, and her long time companion; Nick Dziama of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Theodore, in 1983, her parents, Gregory and Helen (nee Hudak) Sandor, and brothers; Michael Sanders, and John Sandor, sisters; Mary Mrosko, Ann Ratica, and Helen Laslovich.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where a parastas service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. The family will also receive friends on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, E. 32nd and Gary Ave., Lorain. Very Rev. Archpriest Basil Stoyka, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
