Mae B. Jessel

Mae B. Jessel, (nee Malinowski), age 91, of Lorain, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at her residence following a short illness.


Born May 28, 1913 in Philadelphia, PA, she moved to Lorain in 1920 where she has lived since.


She owned and operated Mae's Beauty Shop and Jessel's Beauty Shop in Lorain for 45 years before retiring in 1982.


She was a life long member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain and enjoyed traveling in her later years.


Surviving is her husband of 73 years, Peter Jessel; son, John Jessel of Birmingham; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Stanley Malinowski, Joe Malinowski and Peter Malinowski, all of Lorain; and a sister, Sophia of Tucson, AZ.


She was preceded in death by her son, James Jessel in 2002, and sisters, Katy and Jay.


The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 12:30 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, E. 28th St. and Elyria Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Kevin Shemuga, pastor, will officiate and Rev. William Schill, deacon, of St. Stanislaus Church will assist. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
