Luis Alberto Acevedo, born October 5, 1966, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, passed away on August 9, 2026, in Lorain, Ohio. Luis leaves behind a legacy defined by perseverance, dedication to family, and a passion for both his craft and music.
Luis’s journey began in Puerto Rico, where his roots shaped much of his character and determination. He spent a significant portion of his life in Buffalo, New York, where he resided for thirty years. In Buffalo, he became known for his skills in auto body repair—a vocation that allowed him to blend technical proficiency with creativity. His friends and acquaintances remember him not only for his meticulous workmanship but also for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Eight years ago, Luis moved to Lorain, Ohio, where he made his home for the remainder of his years. Here, he continued to build meaningful relationships and share his enthusiasm for music. Known by many as a talented D.J., Luis brought life to countless gatherings with his dedication and unyielding energy. Music was more than a pastime for him; it was a way to connect with others, celebrate life, and bring joy to those around him.
Luis is survived by a loving and extensive family. His children, David, Luis Jr. and Virginia, carry forward his legacy of hard work and resilience. He was a devoted son to his mother, Maria Quinones, and is remembered fondly by his siblings: brothers Michael and Pablo, and sisters Maria Molina, Carmen Fernandez, Marisol Solero, and Alicia Pino. His role as a grandfather was perhaps one of his greatest sources of pride, having touched the lives of his grandchildren—Anastacia, Arasel, Jazzmarie, Ja'nyce, Jose Jr., Gonzalo, Aleigha, David Jr., Aziana, Jay'onni, and Jisselle—in immeasurable ways. The next generation, led by his great-grandchild Draven and great-great grandchild, Essence, will inherit stories of his strength, warmth, and kindness.
Preceded in death by his father, David Acevedo, Luis’s memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
