Lillian Pena (nee Gdovin) age 90, a resident of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at O’Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville following a brief illness.
Born February 16, 1931 in Lorain to the late Joseph and Anna (nee Jusko) Gdovin, she lived in Lorain until moving to Elyria in 2014. She graduated in the 1949 B class of Lorain High School. After 30 years of working as an assembler at the former Lorain Products, she retired in 1996.
Lillian was a member Lorain’s former Holy Trinity Church, St. Peter Parish in Lorain and Mar-Win Club that started in her ninth grade. She was involved in many church activities in both churches, loved traveling having been to every state except for Alaska and Hawaii and had a passion for playing cards. She also worked Friday fish fry dinners at the Slovak Home.
Surviving are her sons, William “Bill” Pena and Roger (Janette) Pena both of Lorain; daughters, Judith Morales of Elyria and Carolyn (Brett) Rosborough of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Agnes Herda of Lorain.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William “Bill” in 1998; and sisters, Helen Shullick and Margaret Delinsky.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed my Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
