Kenney Chutes

Kenney R. Chutes, age 86 of Sheffield Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at his residence while under the care of Crossroads Hospice.

He was born July 7, 1937 to Lloyd and Bessie (nee Graham) Chutes in Kimberly, Ohio.  He worked for Ford for 32 years before retiring. Following his retirement, he was very active with St. Thomas the Apostle Parish and school.  He enjoyed attending Mass and going to the St. Thomas fish fry.

He loved gardening, camping, hunting, fishing, and playing horseshoes, cornhole and bowling as well as going to Cedar Point. Kenney was also very skilled at making walking sticks.

Surviving are his children, Brian (Sherry) Chutes, Kevin (Jenny) Chutes, Michael (Carrie) Chutes and Melissa (Kevin) Eakins; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Mark) Stallard as well as his brother, Donald (Ann) Chutes.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Jo Marie Chutes; both of his parents; grandchild, Michael Jr. as well as his brothers, William, Robert, Lonnie, and Lloyd.

Mass will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 715 Harris Road, Sheffield Lake.  Rev. Stephen Shields will officiate.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
