Julia M. Hegedus (nee Wilson), 94, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Autumn Aegis Retirement Community, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Vintondale, PA on March 31, 1922. She came to Lorain at the age of 2 and lived in Lorain and Elyria since.
Julia worked for W.T. Grant Company and Higbee's Company at Midway Mall retiring in 1968.
She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of American Association of Retired Persons. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.
She is survived by her son, Joseph of Lorain, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Joseph in 1970, parents, William and Anna Wilson, sisters, Anna Shinsky, Helen Dzoba, Mary Chavinsky, Helen Hughes, brother, John and Vincent Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:00 am in the funeral home followed by mass at 9:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria. Rev. Fr.
