Julia M. Diaz

Julia M. Diaz, 86 of Vermilion, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Keystone Pointe Center, LaGrange.
She was born on July 21, 1927 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, moving to Bronx, NY in 1949. In 1985 she moved to Vermilion.
She was a former member of Templo Emmanuel Asambleas de Dios, Lorain, where she was also a member of the Sociedad de Damas, and faithfully attended the International House of Praise Church. She was very active in church activities and loved to cook and help care for her foster grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters; Sonia Rivas, of Elyria and Angelique Yost, of Vermilion, 10 grandchildren; Jessica Yost, of NJ, Melissa Ward, of NC, Maria (Larry) Westover, Mitchell (Mindy) Rivas, Jonathan Yost, Timothy Yost, Joshua Yost, Rebecca Yost, Christian Yost, and Aaliyah Yost, all of OH, and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Karl Yost II, her parents; Segundo and Juana (nee Reyes) Diaz, brothers; Florentino, David, Leocadio , Luis, and Juan Diaz Reyes, sisters; Eva, Eva Gloria, America Diaz Reyes, and Ana Diaz Cardona, and grandson, Matthew Rivas.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 - 8 pm, at Templo Emmanuel Asambleas de Dios, 4230 Clinton Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 10:00 am, at the International House of Praise Church, 4321 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
