Juan J. Martinez

Juan J. Martinez, age 94 of Lorain, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence on December 11, 2025.

He was born September 10, 1931, in Laras, Puerto Rico. In 1959 he moved to New York with his family and later settled in Lorain in 1976. For many years he worked for Lear Romec, retiring in 1992. Juan was also a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain.

Juan enjoyed gardening, playing dominoes, music as well as playing the guitar.

Surviving are his children, Francisco (Christine) Martinez, Lizette Exposito Martinez, Daisy Sanchez and Margarita Rodriguez; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ana Martinez; son, Jose Martinez; parents, Francisco Martinez and Josefa Alicia; sister, Teresa Torres; brothers, Francisco Martinez, Antonio Martinez, and Confesor Martinez as well as his sons in-law, Joel Sanchez and Martin Exposito.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 16 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, December 17 from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
