Joseph F. “Joe” Yuhos, age 87, of Sheffield Lake, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Avon following a 4-month illness.
Born July 31, 1931 in Amherst, he was a life long resident of Sheffield Lake. Joe graduated from Brookside High School and then served in the US Marines.
Joe retired from Lorain Works US Steel and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 1104. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving is his son, Joseph M. (Cortney) Yuhos of Burke, Virginia; a daughter, Jennifer (Eric) Heckenbach of Miller, Missouri; grandchildren, Katarina and Alex; and a brother William “Bill” Yuhos of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally (nee Schnitzler) Yuhos in 2007; a son, Timothy Yuhos in 2011; parents, John and Elizabeth (nee Steffan) Yuhos; a brother, John Yuhos; and a sister, Margaret Yuhos.
Private services were held. The Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, Lorain, handled the arrangements.
