Joseph " Joe" Kacsandy, age 91, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Community Health Partners HSC - W, Lorain.
He was born on April 15, 1915 in Medina, Ohio.
Joe was employed at Lorain Works US Steel for 39 years, retiring in 1976 as a crane operator in the transportation dept. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local #1104.
He was an avid Indians and Browns fan, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Theresa (nee Loydl), sons: Joseph S. Kacsandy, of Vermilion, Lewis J. Kacsandy of Avon Lake, daughter: Rosalie A. Kovacs, of Amherst, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, sisters: Irene Kish, and Elizabeth Kaargard both of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Stephen and Elizabeth (nee Kulics) Kacsandy, brother: Albert Steve in 1960, William, John in 1994, Kalman in 1926 and James in 1918.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 1, 2006 from 6-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., Ohio.
