Jose A Berdiel

Jose Antonio Berdiel, 86, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at his residence while under the care of New Life Hospice following a short illness.
Born January 24, 1929 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he lived in New Jersey before settling in Lorain.
Jose retired from General Motors Fisher Body Plant in 1990 after 11 years there.
He was a 46 year member of Iglesia Bethel in Lorain, and a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 780.
Jose enjoyed mechanics, carpentry and could fix anything. He had the mind of an engineer and had invented machines.
Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Margarita (nee Lopez); sons, Faustino Gonzalez of Elyria, Wilson Gonzalez of Lorain and David Berdiel; daughters, Angie Berdiel and Mary Lou Berdiel; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and 3 brothers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:30 am. Rev. Carlos Caraballo, pastor of Iglesia Bethel will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
