Jorge L. Diaz, born on February 21, 1954, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, in Lorain, Ohio, after a lengthy illness. His gentle presence and enduring spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jorge’s journey began in Puerto Rico. His family later made their home in Lorain, Ohio, where Jorge graduated from Admiral King in 1973. Throughout his life, Jorge was known for his unwavering work ethic and steadfast commitment to those around him.
For many years, Jorge dedicated himself as a laborer for US Steel. His diligence and reliability made him a respected figure among his colleagues. Beyond his professional achievements, it was Jorge’s kindness, humility, and quiet strength that touched the lives of so many.
He is remembered with love and admiration by his brother David Diaz and sister Margie Figueroa. His legacy continues through his many nieces and nephews: David Jr., Dominic, Julia, Christina, Ernesto "Tito" Jr., Rafael, Lauren, Marcy (Ray), Alonso, Paige, Macy, and Lorraine as well as her great-niece, Brooklyn. Their lives have been forever enriched by Jorge’s steady support, thoughtful advice, and caring nature.
Jorge was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Confessor and Carmen Natal, and his brother William Diaz. Their memory was a constant comfort and inspiration to him throughout his life.
Those who knew Jorge will remember his gentle demeanor, his integrity, and the deep love he held for his family. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his relatives and friends, but his legacy endures in the stories shared and the lives he touched.
A life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and quiet strength, Jorge L. Diaz will be remembered always with fondness, respect, and gratitude.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Alexander C. Spenik of Sacred Heart Chapel will officiate. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
