Jorge Castillo Soto

Jorge Castillo Soto, born on February 22, 1960, in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, passed away on November 23, 2025, in Westlake, Ohio. Throughout his life, Jorge exemplified dedication in both his career and personal passions, leaving an enduring legacy for his family and community.

As a juvenile corrections officer, Jorge devoted his professional life to guiding young people through challenging circumstances. He retired from this vocation in 1994, having touched many lives with his commitment and compassion.

Jorge was a proud member of Sacred Heart Chapel, where he connected with the community and found solace in his faith. His interests were multifaceted; he enjoyed gardening and lawn care, finding peace in nurturing the earth. Music was also a significant part of his life, and he took pleasure in visiting casinos, where he enjoyed the thrill of games and the camaraderie of fellow patrons.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Carmen Soto Rosado, his devoted daughters Digna Castillo and Izaida Santana, and his brother Ramon Castillo. Also mourning his loss are his sister Digna Castillo and his cherished grandchildren, Alexander Alvarado, Sachary Rodriguez, Juleynie Alvarado, Jose Rodriguez, Ivann Alvarado, Janelis Alvarado, Ana Alvarado, Elian Rodriguez and Leonel Rodriguez as well as his great granddaughter, Juleisie Rivera who will carry forward his spirit and values.

Jorge joins in eternal rest his father, Ramon Castillo, his mother, Aurora Soto, and his brothers Victor Castillo, Edwin Castillo, Josue Castillo, and Papo Castillo, who preceded him in death.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will be held on November 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dovin Funeral And Cremation Specialists, located at 2701 Elyria Ave, Lorain, OH 44055. A funeral service will be conducted on November 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by final farewells.  Deacon Luis Maldonado of Sacred Heart Chapel will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
