Jo Ann J. Fecik

Jo Ann J. Fecik (nee Champeon), age 86, of Lorain, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012, at Golden Acres Nursing Home, Amherst. She was born on August 8, 1925 in Oberlin, living in Lorain county her entire life. She is a graduate of Oberlin High School. Jo Ann worked at Admiral King, in the cafeteria, for 14 years, before retiring from there in 1975. She was a member of Tower Baptist Church. Jo Ann loved to travel, read, and work on crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed going shopping. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Layport, of Lorain, daughter, Linda (William) Beegle, of Ft. Myers, FL, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, half-brother, William M. Champeon and half-sister, Norma J. Seymour, both of Trenton, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael P. Fecik, in 1990, her son, Scott Vincent, in 2011, and her parents; Ralph A. and Dorothy M. (nee Braithwaite) Champeon. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 30th, from 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 am. The Rev. Gary Dorsey, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
