Jeanette Johnson

Jeanette L. Johnson (nee Zumwalt), age 89, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family following a short illness.

Born on March 9, 1937, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Junita (nee Snyder) Zumwalt. Jeanette lived in Kansas City until she moved in with her daughter 31 years ago.

Jeanette took great joy in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. She enjoyed sunbathing, going for walks, listening to music and musicals, and reading in her younger years, with Elvis Presley being her favorite artist.

She is survived by her children: Denise (Tim) Parks of Lorain, William (Frances) Dalton of Kansas City, Missouri, and Steven Dalton of Machias, New York. Additionally, she leaves behind many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as a brother, Gary (Joan) Elgin of Kansas City, Missouri.

In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Keefer.
