Javis B. Smith

Javis  B. Smith, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2020 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Born on November 17, 1973, he attended Admiral King High School. His work history included factory positions, landscaping, mechanical and construction work, and car detailing.

He enjoyed fishing, fixing on cars, cooking, cutting hair, tattooing, doing puzzles, putting model cars together, and yard work.

He loved spending time with family and friends; laughing, telling jokes, barbecuing, dancing, playing cards, listening to music, and just having a good time. He always believed in family sticking together. He hustled hard, fought hard, and loved even harder.

Surviving is his wife, Coffie Lee Smith (nee Davis), of 22 years of marriage (30 years of total togetherness); daughter Ashley Smith; 3 sons; Denzel Smith, Robert Davis, and Javis Smith Jr.; mother Francetta J. Bergerson; 2 sisters Yolanda Smith and Francetta E. Davis; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather; Benjamin Smith, grandmother; Eloise J. Smith; aunt Linda Harris; uncles Larry and Ronald Johnigan; and cousins James Curtis Harris and Savoux Reeves.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private services were held.  Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists handled the arrangements.
