Janice Marie Smith (née Hupman), age 45, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Monday, May 15th, 2017 in Oberlin, Ohio.
Janice was born in Zanesville, Ohio on May 26, 1971 to Tom and Florence Hupman. She was a 1989 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst, Ohio, and then attended Lorain County Community College. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain, Ohio.
Janice took great joy in providing daily care for her grandchildren, and loved them, her children and her family very dearly. She enjoyed watching every Ohio State Football game with her husband and their two dogs. She was very passionate about animal rescue, especially dogs.
Janice is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, David Smith; her children, Felicia (David) Randall and Anthony Smith; her sisters, Mary (Doug) Cogdell and Susan (Todd) Mackintosh; her grandchildren, Joshua and Landon Randall; and her fur-babies, Scooby and Scrappy; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 19th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3747 Liberty Avenue, Vermillion, Ohio 44089 from 3:00 -5:00 pm. Her celebration of life ceremony, officiated by Rev. Richard Leseganich and Rev. Dr. Linwood Chamberlain, will be held at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the ASPCA, Friendship APL, Nord Center or a charity of your choice.
