Janet M. Christie

Janet Marie Christie, age 80, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Akron following a lengthy illness.

Born April 8, 1945, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, Janet lived in Wayne, Michigan, before moving to Lorain County in 1989.

She graduated from Lincoln Park High School in 1963 and continued her education at Eastern Michigan University.

Janet worked as a secretary for the Church of the Redeemer in Lorain and volunteered at Mercy Hospital Thrift Store.

She enjoyed crocheting and decorating.

Surviving are her daughters, Elizabeth Torok of Elyria and Jacqueline Torok of Lorain; grandchildren Nicholas and Alexander Brockmeyer and two great-grandchildren; and John Torok of Avon Lake.

She was preceded death by her parents, Alexander and Elizabeth (nee Witherspoon) Christie; a brother, Charles Christie; and her identical twin sister, Joan Elizabeth Christie.

The family extends an invitation to friends to join them for a graveside service on Friday, July 25, at 12:30 p.m. in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 N. Ridge Road, Amherst, Ohio. The service will be officiated by Rev. Abraham Fiodembo, Cleveland Clinic Hospice Chaplin.
