Irma Ana Ruiz

Irma Ana Ruiz, age 66 of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Born April 14, 1956 to Francisco and Felicita (nee Alicea) Garza in Lorain, Ohio, Irma spent her entire life in Lorain.  She graduated from Southview High School in 1975 and later attended Lorain County Community College where she was on the Dean’s list. Irma also worked at Convenient on 42nd Street as well as Fisher Fazios, Lorain Public Library and for 27 years as a cashier at Lowes in Elyria.

Irma enjoyed dancing, shopping, gardening, and cooking.  Above all she was a wonderful caretaker who enjoyed taking care of her entire family as well working on puzzles and crafts with her grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband of 42 years, Paul Ruiz Jr.; sons, Daniel Ruiz Rivera and Paul (Alicia) Ruiz III; daughter, Melissa (Matthew) Mitchell; grandchildren, Victoria, Daniel, Merciana, Andrés, Jaydon, Amaurion, Marell and Amri; great-grandson, Enzio; brothers, Francisco Garza and Gerard Garza as well as her sisters, Patricia Gordon, Martha "Tita" Guzman, Theresa (Francisco “Tito”) Boneta and Maria Cortez-Gonzalez.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at House of Praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.  Rev. Gilbert Silva will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
