Iris M. Diaz

Iris M. Diaz, age 101 of Lorain passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at her residence under the care of Cleveland Clinic Hospice.

Born December 21, 1923, Coamo, Puerto Rico to Antolin and Filomena (nee Cartagena) Lopez, Iris moved to Lorain in 1955. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain.

She enjoyed reading and crafts, including sewing and crocheting.

Surviving are her daughters, Judith (Jose) Vazquez and Evelyn (Pedro) Guzman and grandchildren, Norberto Guzman, Jennifer (Rex) Vazquez-Lewis, Raquel Guzman, Burgie Burgos.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Juan Diaz Burgos in 2003 as well as several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Deacon Luis Maldonado of Sacred Heart Chapel will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
