Irene Mitchell Figueroa

Irene Mitchell Figueroa, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on July 24, 2025, in Lorain, Ohio, at the age of 69. Born on October 20, 1955, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Irene's life was marked by her unwavering spirit of generosity and her deep love for family.

Irene is remembered fondly for her passion for cooking, particularly her ability to make the best Pasteles, which brought joy to many family gatherings. She enjoyed playing dominos, often cherishing the moments spent with loved ones around the table, sharing laughter and stories. Known for her giving nature, Irene always went out of her way to help others, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her cherished children, Iremin Centeno Mitchell, Iriana Centeno Mitchell, and Carlos M. Centeno. Irene's legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Guillermo Lopes, Christopher Baez, Johanys Calo, Charlein Rivera Centeno, Emmarianelyz Pesante, Thianna Pesante, and Lorianys Yapul, as well as her great-grandchildren, Christopher Baez Jr. and Jaxiel E. Baez. Irene’s surviving sister, Ana Mitchell, will also deeply miss her.

Irene was preceded in death by her father, Luis Mitchell; her mother, Teodosia Figueroa; and her brother, Carlos Mitchell.

Family, friends, and all who knew Irene are invited to celebrate her life at the visitation on July 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, both to be held at Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal M.I. Ebenezer, located at 1676 E 36th Street, Lorain, OH 44055.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.

Irene Mitchell Figueroa’s warm heart and dedicated spirit have left an indelible mark on all of our lives. She will be profoundly missed, but her love and kindness will forever resonate in the memories of those she touched.
