Idali Saez (nee Rivas), 83, of Lorain, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Lake Pointe Health Care, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born February 2, 1932 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, she came to Lorain in 1952.
Idali worked in the laundry department of St. Joseph Hospital for 12 years, retiring in 1990. Prior to this, she worked at Master Manufacturing and Lorain Towel.
She enjoyed gardening.
Surviving is her son, Mike of Lorain; daughters, Noemi Saez of Cleveland, Carmen Rivera of Lorain, Elba Vicens of St. Petersburg, Florida and Josephine Spring of Vermilion; grandchildren, Samantha Perry, Arial Saez, Andrea Saez, Rachel Cardona, George Spreng Jr, Krissy McGann, Yvette Irizarry, Ruthy Leos and Annette Rivera, David Roldan, Randy Roldan, Wanda Gonzalez and 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Antonio Rivas, Jose Benito Rivas and Jose Alberto Rivas all of Orocovis, Puerto Rico; sisters, Elisa Rivas of San Francisco, California, Lucy Melendez and Neftali Melendez both of Lorain, Irma Rivas and Eva Maldonado both of Aibonito, Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Maria (nee Ortiz) Rivas; brothers, Hector Benito Rivas and Ismael Rivas.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 until the time of services at 3:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Deacon Tony DeGracia of Sacred Heart Chapel will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
