Geraldine M. Gerry PERNISKY, 68, of Lorain, died Friday, December 03, 2004 at her residence while under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve following a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 6, 1936 in Lorain, she was a life long resident here. She was a 1955 graduate of Lorain High School.
She worked in the billing department of Smith Gerhart Department Store, Lorain, for 25 years. In 1982, she then worked as the night secretary for Murray Ridge Mental Board of Retardation, until 1996. She had also worked at Lawsons in Lorain as a store clerk.
Geraldine enjoyed bingo, traveling to Las Vegas to gamble, playing poker, cards and board games with her family long into the morning hours. She also enjoyed ceramics, reading, collecting tea pots and ink pens.
Surviving is her brother; Jim Pernisky of Lorain, and sister; Carol Katkic of Lorain, and nephews; Joey Katkic and Jeff Katkic both of Lorain
She was preceded in death by her parents; Adam John Pernisky and Mary Ann (nee Sas) Pernisky.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. William Schill, Deacon of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, will officiate. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
