Genevieve "Jennie" Rehoreg

Genevieve "Jennie" Rehoreg (nee Kojra) age 90, of Elyria, was taken to her heavenly home by Angels to celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas season on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.
She was born January 10, 1927 in Lorain, Ohio to Stanislaw and Stella Kojra and graduated from Lorain High School in the class of 1944B. Genevieve worked at the former St. Joseph's Hospital and Wietz Clothing factory.
Genevieve was a founding member of the church she loved, St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church as well as the Altar and Rosary Society and the Elyria United Polish Club. She loved cooking, baking, canning, gardening and enjoyed watching humming birds in her beautiful flower garden. She also enjoyed going to Amish country and caring for her cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years, Martin Rehoreg, Jr. in 1988; a son, Jerry Rehoreg, and brother, Stanley Kojra.
Devoted and loving mother to Donald (Carla) Rehoreg, Jeannie (Dave) Flowers, Sandra Rehoreg (her caregiver), Sue (Dan) Sutherland, Joyce Garn (daughter in law); grandmother to RaShelle, Suzanne, Mandy, David, Walter (Kristen), Genevieve, and Suzanne (Kevin). Great grandmother to Eli. "Adoptive mother" to Debbi West and family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 4-7 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Saturday at 12:30 pm followed by mass at 1:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria. Rev. Donald Dunson, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The family would like to thank Kris Komosa, nurse practitioner of the North Ohio Heart Failure Clinic.
