Frances Gergely

Frances Gergely (nee Gugliemino), 93 of Lorain, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Anchor Lodge Retirement Village, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born August 22, 1920 in Rochester, New York, she lived in Chicago and Huron, Ohio before moving to Lorain in the 1940's.
Frances worked as a supervisor at Osher Brothers Meat Packing in Lorain for 25 years, retiring in the early 1960's.
She was a member of Hungarian Reformed Church, Lorain, and enjoyed knitting, babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is her son, John (Maggie) Gergely of Vermilion, and James (Geri) Gergely of Florida; grandchildren, Denise DiLuciano of Amherst, Michael Gergely of Vermilion, and Kenneth (Alison) Gergely of Roanoke, Virginia; great grandchildren, Sara, Matthew, Michael, Mark, Erica, Kevin and Nathan; and a brother, Danny Gugliemino of Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1993; and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Rev. Peter Toth, pastor of Hungarian Reformed Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
