Frances H. Butkiewicz

Frances H. Butkiewicz (nee Falencki) age 92, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Kingston of Vermilion following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 19, 1924 in Lorain and lived in Lorain her entire life. Frances graduated from Lorain High School in 1941.
Frances was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lorain, and the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, where she was a member the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed watching birds outside her kitchen window.
Surviving are her children, Terri (Lawrence) Hickman of Oberlin, Daniel (Therese) Butkiewicz of Falls Church, Virginia, Joan (Richard) Kowalczyk and Ken Butkiewicz both of Wakeman, Noreen Butkiewicz and Steve Butkiewicz both of Lorain, and Mary Ellen "Mel" (Kieran) Gallahue of La Jolla, California and Jeffrey Butkiewicz, Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Stephanie, Nora, Matthew, Nicholas (Jennifer), Benjamin (Julia), Caileigh Brynn and Owen; a great grandson, Henry; and a sister, Helen Wilczak of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Henry in 1999; parents Lucas and Victoria (Losiewicz) Falencki; brothers, John, Edward, Leo and Joseph Falencki; and a sister Harriet Belczyk.
There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain. Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
