Evelyn P. Benco

Evelyn P. Benco, (nee Kacsmar), age 88, of Altomonte Springs, Florida, formerly of Lorain, died on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at Altomonte Florida Hospital, following a short illness.
Evelyn was born on May 6, 1926 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, living in Lorain until moving to Florida 27 years ago.
While living in Lorain County she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Amherst.
Evelyn enjoyed playing bingo and loved trips on Casino Boats. She also enjoyed gardening and her flowers.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Waters, of Lorain, Diane (Warren) Oleen, of Lorain, Nancy Knott, of Buford, GA, and Andrea (Gus) Varelas, of Altomonte Springs, Florida, sons, Larry (Crystal) Benco, of Kokomo, IN, Terry Benco, of Castleberry, FL, and Mark Benco, of Apopka, FL, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Henry Benco, in 2004, son, Charles Benco, parents, Andrew and Victoria Kacsmar, and brother, Anthony Kacsmar.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Laurie Miller, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park. To send online condolences, go to www.dovinfuneralhome.com.

I met Evelyn a couple times during her shopping trips with her daughter Andrea and she always seemed so kind. I know she was a wonderful woman simply because she raised a wonderful daughter who I became very close to over the years we worked together. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.
